The indestructible among the robust. It meets the highest requirements, e.g. for Big Wall ascents and climbing school operations.
Each thread of the sheath of the Dry Cover rope is waterproofed before manufacture. This waterproofing takes place under high temperature polymerization and improves the abrasion resistance. The polymerisation process and the treatment of each individual thread increases the life of the waterproofing. This treatment makes ropes more resistant to abrasion, repeated falls, heat, dust, moisture and significantly increases their durability.
Every thread in the core and sheath of the Golden Dry rope is waterproofed before the rope is made. The waterproofing is polymerized at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is achieved by polymerisation, but also by the treatment of each individual yarn before rope manufacture. A Golden Dry rope combines two treatments: in addition to the Dry Cover treatment of the sheath, the core is also waterproofed. The result is a surprisingly robust and water-repellent rope.
UIAA Water Repellent
Beal ropes with Golden Dry treatment absorb less than 3% water in UIAA standard tests.
This infrared treatment strengthens the fibres of the sheath and makes them more homogeneous. The result is a more compact rope with better handling.
